The Erasmus Bond Tonic app is used solely for your own comfort. It is an informative tool built around a commercial product, and it has no interest in data collection of any kind. This app will never access nor share any personal information or files with any sources outside of your own phone.
Our database contains a lot of barcodes for many different gins. Instead of by name, you have the possibility to search for a particular gin based on its unique barcode. You can do that by typing in the barcode yourself (tedious!), or by using your camera to scan and recognize this barcode. These images you capture are never stored on or transferred to a location outside of your phone.
The Erasmus Bond app contains a feature that allows you to take a snapshot of your Perfectly Served Gin & Tonic, and share it with your friends on Facebook . The pictures you take are only stored locally on your phone and will only be uploaded to social media with and after your approval, and in whatever form you choose yourself.
In order for these features to work, camera access is required.
The Erasmus Bond app does not record audio or video in any automated way. Anything you capture (video, audio or still images) via our app is either not stored at all or stored locally . It will never be transferred to an outside server, unless you choose to do so yourself (e.g. Social Media)
The Erasmus Bond app contains a lot of information about our tonics and their matching gins. To avoid unnecessary network traffic and to allow for offline access, the app will store downloaded data locally on your phone for easy and quick access.
The app does not access any of your personal files, nor will it ever attempt to transfer any of said files to an external server.
To avoid a lot of App Store updates, we've chosen to store dynamic data (data that is subject to changes) outside of the app on our own server (http://www.thenectar.be) . When you open the app, it will try to access our server to download the latest Perfect Serves. Should it not be able to do that (e.g. no network connectivity), it will fall back on the last set of data is was able to download . A working internet connection is required when you first open the app, to acquire an initial set of data.
For security reasons, the web server the app is accessing will be logging the requests the app will make. These logs are anonymous and only contain a date-time stamp and the IP-address from which the request was made.
Since a social media plugin was included, internet access will also be used to allow for sharing your Perfect Serves with your friends.
Should you still have any concerns about your privacy when you are using our app, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@thenectar.be and we'll be more than happy to sort things out to make sure you feel confident and secure when using our app.
